Casual Threats - "Stalking Awareness Month" Premiere

Casual Threats - "Stalking Awareness Month" Premiere

How does one describe Casual Threats, other than the fact they are casually threatening, without simply calling them a post punk band from Newcastle. You could start by addressing the fact their off and on stage antics sit well within the confines of how a post punk band would act, with tomfoolery and random acts of debauchery and "dicking around" really emphasising the tonal feel of the new wave punk band.

We at Spotlight were given the opportunity a few months prior to record CT for a session and since then we have remained relatively chummy with the mad lads from Cash and even succeeded in getting a (very intoxicated) interview with the three of them at Evo emerging where water was thrown T-shirts were ruined and everyone left with a smile on their face.

It is therefore our absolutely and undoubtable pleasure to announce the Soundcloud premier of their new track, Stalking Awareness Month, which premieres today so go check it out below.

The song itself is a work of art from a bunch of crazed artists with its feet still buried firmly in the sands of punk but with hints of influence from the likes of QOTSA and Biffy Clyro with vocalist Ollie Edward's voice resembling that of Josh Homme.

Stalking Awareness Month is just the beginning of course with CT pulling out all the stops to bring us their new album, Life From Below, on Friday the 28th of October with the launch parties taking place at the Head of Steam on the 28th with the excellent Coquin Migale, Mouses and Moon Rover supporting and on the 29th in the Green Room in Stockton again with support from Coquin Migale, Idle Violets and Massa Confusa. So definitely something to check out over the next few days and if you get the chance go check the three man punk band out at their launch parties and please be sure to grab the album when it's released, cmon, don't make me casually threaten you.
