Sofar Sound Newcastle At The Mining Institute

Sofar Sound Newcastle At The Mining Institute

Unshockingly shocked by the quality of Sofar Sound as always.

Since attending my first Sofar a year ago and being blown away by the quality of the acts I've come to expect nothing but excellence from Matt, the head honcho, the Sofar team and every act that performs In whatever amazing venue they select for that evening.

Last nights was no different, taking place in the mining institute next to central station in Newcastle, the acts included Kay Greyson, a rapper from the northeast whose Geordie accent blended with a hip hop vibe has a real original sound.

Her performance at the institute was outstanding and (barring a few hiccups with audio) went of without a hitch, the performance showcasing her talent and building up for the second performance from Pale white.

The three man indie band were on form ,as per usual, and blew the audience away with acoustic versions of their most popular tracks. I don't think it needs to be said but if you should have the chance go check out any Sofar sound across the world but definitely in Newcastle as Matt's ability to pull in some quality acts is phenomenal and any opportunity to go to a show should be taken.
