St. Buryan release dream-like single 'Lucid' and launch gig at Jumpin' Jacks
St. Buryan are due to release their new Single 'Lucid' on the 23rd of June and are ready to celebrate with a launch gig at Newcastle's Jumpin' Jacks.
Having returned from a year-long hiatus, Sunderland & Newcastle based St. Buryan are back and full of new inspirations and an ever increasing hunger for success.
Their first comeback single 'Everything I Said' was received with eager ears back in April, and showcased the band's new indie-pop sound.
Clearly the time spent apart whilst the five band members ventured off to various universities across the country has made a defining impact on their musical direction, as their 2015 EP 'White Noise' was a collection of much more rock heavy tracks.
Ready to follow up with their next single 'Lucid', due to be released on Friday the 23rd of June, the gang stay true to their new-found ability to produce a fantastically catchy number.
Written by Drummer Rhys, the song talks about someone sabotaging their own relationship, and despite trying their hardest, being unable to stop themselves from doing so - as if in a lucid dream you can’t wake up from.
Some pretty dark stuff, yet add to that a toe-tappingly poppy beat and a chorus that will have you itching to hear it again and again, there is no doubt the guys are onto a winning combination with “Lucid”.
And from what we have heard, the song also had a massively positive reaction when St. Buryan played it live during their support slot for the sell-out Flyte gig at the Tynemouth Surfcafe back in May.
To celebrate the release of their new single the band are playing a headline show at Newcastle’s Jumpin' Jacks on Tuesday 27th June.
