Preview: Peace Frog's upcoming tropical twister of a track 'Dilate'
We all know how notoriously underwhelming British summers can be, but don’t despair as Peace Frog's upcoming new single 'Dilate' is sure to give you those sunshine vibes no matter how gloomy the weather.
Due to be released on August 18th, the band have kindly let us have us an early listen and I'm here to give you a preview of what will be the bands 3rd single...
Right from the start those feel-good sounds featuring bongos, maracas and beautiful guitar riffs will have you longing to be sprawled on a sun-lounger on a golden beach.
But don't let those uplifting beats distract you from some rather dark and angst-filled lyrics.
First off, a chorus as philosophical as “You just dilate, you might perish, but you live forever” strikes a chord, even if hidden behind such a contrasting rhythm.
With an ever increasing intensity as the song progresses, the tropical sounds are quickly swept away by much rockier riffs and drums creating a beautifully shaken cocktail of a song.
'Dilate' is undoubtedly laying some very strong foundations for a distinct Peace Frog sound that we will hopefully hear a lot more of in the future.
Despite the band having formed at Leeds Beckett University in 2016, the four-piece indie band actually has close ties the North East with two of their band members originating from Sunderland. As a result the band has been given the chance to play live shows in Leeds as well as the North East on numerous occasions, and word of their energetic live shows is starting to spread.
Be sure to keep an eye on their social media accounts for announcements of upcoming shows to see for yourself!
'Dilate' is sure to find itself onto my Summer Playlist when it’s officially released on 18th of August, but there is a chance for you to hear the track before then by tuning into Spark FM on 13th August.
Don't miss your chance to hear the debut of the song as well as an interview with the band live on airfrom 4PM.
