Review: Callum Pitt's enchanting new single 'Rabbits'
It’s been hard not to fall under the spell of Newcastle singer-songwriter Callum Pitt, with his boy-next-door charms, falsetto vocals and dreamy guitar-driven melodies.
And with the phenomenal response to his first two singles 'You'd Better Sell It While You Can' and 'Least He’s Happy' earlier in the year, there surely was a sense of unified euphoria when follow-up track 'Rabbits' was announced to be released on the 23rd of September.
So what did I think of it...
A spine-tingling intro sets the mood before Callum’s uniquely entrancing voice takes your hand and leads you off into a musical wonderland full of gentle riffs and enchanting piano keys.
Despite the bittersweet lyrics remaining enigmatic at times, the chorus couldn’t be more distinctly poignant: “Why oh why do we evoke this creature fear when we’re all just rabbits in the headlights here…”.
An absolutely beautiful emotive indie-folk song, 'Rabbits' is so deeply strung that it might just make you cry just as much as it can leave you smiling in utter content.
What's more... to make this release even more exciting Callum has gone an hidden a load of adorable rabbit stickers all over Newcastle which give the finders access to exclusive content like music, handwritten lyrics and more.
And if you find all four kinds you win the big prize: a cover of your choice performed and recorded by Callum!
So, what are you waiting for! get on over to this website to find out more and then head out sticker hunting.
We’re already well on a roll – this might just get more addictive than Pokémon!
