The most festive of seasons is upon us and what better way to enjoy it than out and about experiencing some live music! And with so many special Xmas gigs happening, especially on the three Saturdays preceding the arrival of the big man, we found it simply too hard to just select one for each day so we’ve chucked in an extended selection for you to choose from.

With a hugely successful year under her belt, this will be her biggest show to date and is sure to create a worthy finale to her 2018. Full of genuine warmth and catchy melodies, we dare anyone not to fall under her captivating spell. After a string of festival appearances, tours and the release of their latest EP there is a lot for these three gents to celebrate and we expect the whole of the Northumbria Institute to get behind them and sing their hearts out to their anthemic rock tunes full of heaving riffs and thumping drum beats. Northern Electric Festival host this impressive Christmas do at not one but two of Ouseburn’s finest establishments. Over at Kaleidoscope Studios, ambient three piece Worry Party will be celebrating their first single from their upcoming EP and are joined by two piece alt-rock band Badger and futuristic electro performer Xaatu. While just next door at the Tanner Arms pub, headliners Tunnel Club will provide old-school dance vibes with support from newcomers Shoda Shoto and energetic acid-techno creator Onism.

Describing themselves as “piano driven indie” these guys sure are worth checking out. One More Tour – Tribute to Dan Wild-Beesley

In memory of math-rock legend Dan Wild-Beesley from the band Cleft, who passed away recently after battling with Cancer, a series of shows are being held across the country. The “One More Tour” will feature a screening of Cleft’s last ever gig as well as a line-up of incredible heavy rock bands such as Leeds based trio Tall Talker and Newcastle post-metal outfit Dutch Elm.
