The most festive of seasons is upon us and what better way to enjoy it than out and about experiencing some live music! And with so many special Xmas gigs happening, especially on the three Saturdays preceding the arrival of the big man, we found it simply too hard to just select one for each day so we’ve chucked in an extended selection for you to choose from.
Club Paradise ‘Sugar’ Single Launch + Deep.Sleep / Amongst Echoes

Following the release of their debut single 'Brother' back in June, and a sensational launch party to boot, the grooving Newcastle indie outfit Club Paradise return with their latest offering 'Sugar'. Full of energy and warm summery feels, their sound might just be the antidote to your winter blues. And with support promising to be equally scorching from fellow indie marvels Deep.Sleep and Amongst Echoes, this gig is really going to be a right old boogie!
Holly Rees and The Breakfast Club + Picnic / Matt Dunbar

Local gig-promo high-risers Rhyme present this latest offering featuring much loved local folk-pop darling Holly Rees. But this time, far from being a solo show, she has drafted in a whole host of friends and familiar faces to create her super-band “The Breakfast Club”. With a hugely successful year under her belt, this will be her biggest show to date and is sure to create a worthy finale to her 2018. Full of genuine warmth and catchy melodies, we dare anyone not to fall under her captivating spell. And that's not all you can look forward to... support comes from the highly addictive funk-pop outfit Picnic and the talented singer-songwriter Matt Dunbar.

The Pale White / The Old Pink House
Location: Northumbria Institute - Newcastle

Smashing all of their highly ambitious goals, The Pale White finally return home to Newcastle for their biggest hometown show to date. After a string of festival appearances, tours and the release of their latest EP there is a lot for these three gents to celebrate and we expect the whole of the Northumbria Institute to get behind them and sing their hearts out to their anthemic rock tunes full of heaving riffs and thumping drum beats. Along for the ride are their pals The Old Pink House, who are sure to set the bar high with their melodic alt-pop vibes and infectious melodies.

Always unleashing a relentless storm with their explosive and in-your-face live show, the mighty Yorkshire band Avalanche Party return to Newcastle with support from 3 of the region's promising rock-infused bands: Ghost Signals, Sleeptape and Motherland. This is gonna be one mighty show you won't want to miss!
Northern Electric Festival Ouseburn Christmas Party ft. Worry Party, Badger , Tunnel Club & more…

Northern Electric Festival host this impressive Christmas do at not one but two of Ouseburn’s finest establishments. Over at Kaleidoscope Studios, ambient three piece Worry Party will be celebrating their first single from their upcoming EP and are joined by two piece alt-rock band Badger and futuristic electro performer Xaatu. While just next door at the Tanner Arms pub, headliners Tunnel Club will provide old-school dance vibes with support from newcomers Shoda Shoto and energetic acid-techno creator Onism.
10 Days ‘til Xmas Gig - Goodsprings / Kahuna / Dr.Lush

A ska, funk and punk filled Christmas treat awaits you over at Bar Loco.
Headed up by the highly energetic six piece Goodsprings, there most definitely will be plenty of bouncing afoot. Support comes from the equally mind-blowing crowd favourites Kahuna who always impress alongside jazz-funk-drum & bass fusion band Dr Lush.
We're expecting this to be a proper mad one!
Songbird Presents: Pacific / The Voyd
Location: Independent - Sunderland
North East music promoters Songbird present this latest indie offering which will see Manchester’s Pacific take to the stage over at Independent in Sunderland. Describing themselves as “piano driven indie” these guys sure are worth checking out. Support comes from Sunderland band The Voyd , plus you’ll get free entry to Common Sunderland right after too as part of the show's after party. Score!
Dansi / Many Moons / Imogen Bose Ward Trio
Location: Alphabetti Theatre - Newcastle
Genre: Folk-pop / Indie
A band that always get the crowd onto their feet no matter where in the world they appear, Newcastle’s folk-pop mega band Dansi make a triumphant return form their recent appearance in China for this special hometown show. They are joined by the incredibly harmonious indie-pop outfit Many Moons and electrically influenced folk band Imogen Bose Ward Trio.
One More Tour – Tribute to Dan Wild-Beesley
Location: Little Buildings - Newcastle
Genre: Post-Metal / Math-rock
In memory of math-rock legend Dan Wild-Beesley from the band Cleft, who passed away recently after battling with Cancer, a series of shows are being held across the country. The “One More Tour” will feature a screening of Cleft’s last ever gig as well as a line-up of incredible heavy rock bands such as Leeds based trio Tall Talker and Newcastle post-metal outfit Dutch Elm.
