Single Review: Krome's 'Glory Hunter'
Krome are a three-piece rock band from Teesside, with Alec on vocals and lead guitar, Connor on bass guitar, and Trixie on drums.
Glory Hunter, their debut single, opens with a great guitar riff, and I find myself loving it after just 30 seconds.
The lyrics are minimal, which complements the excellent guitar playing, and Alec’s vocal work shows maturity beyond his years.
He has a voice perfectly suited to rock, and confidently belts out empowering lines, such as “Life is what you make it, you’ll never find glory if you don’t go out and take some.”
The only let-down, for me, is the last thirty seconds.
Drums and guitar go up a few notches on the tempo and the singing deteriorates into a series of “da-da-da-do”’s. I think a few good lyrics along the same lines as the earlier ones would fare better there.
Overall however, this song is a must-have for any rock fan.
Play it when you get up in the morning and you’re guaranteed a good day.
