Fangclub (Hit The North Festival)
Taking place in Jumpin' Jacks, Fangclub put on an absolute belter of a show on Sunday night. They truly blasted out every bit of heart and soul they had through their instruments, and I could feel their enthusiasm throughout.
Starting off their set with of their new song 'All Fall Down', this three-piece, Irish, alt-grungy-rock band immediately got the room pulsing.
Half way through their set, the band played their slightly slower yet equally invigorating song 'Knife'. the track's leisurely rhythm swayed the room and gave the audience a little time to rest before they kicked in their next song, so everyone could start thrashing around to the rhythms again.
Ending the set with some of their greatest songs 'Bullethead' (Catchy lyrics and a genuinely amazing riff), 'Bad Words' (Definitely one of their more guitar-centric songs, which projects a rough and raw tone) and 'Follow' (An irresistibly motivating song, I find it hard to stand still listening to this even at home), Fangclub certainly 'Hit' the North for a loop
My favourite band to see live without a doubt, the guys put on an unforgettable show for Hit The North, despite only playing to a very small audience; a difficult feat in itself that deserves the utmost respect.
Despite the fact that the room was not full, the audience who were there, were completely invested and invigorated by the band and the room was thick with enjoyment and dancing for the duration of their set.
Let's hope these guys come down to Newcastle again, I'll certainly be there!
