Single Review: Ten Eighty Trees' 'Lip Service'

Single Review: Ten Eighty Trees' 'Lip Service'

Since the beginning of their existence, Ten Eighty Trees have been consistently releasing addictive music that has been impressing us here at Spotlight.
Their latest single ‘Lip Service’ is no exception, and it’s clear the rock trio have come up with another infectious track to add to their arsenal of catchiness and powerful vocals.

Met with a ruckus of approval since its release, 'Lip Service' is a banger of a tune with an attention grabbing melody that explodes into the chorus accompanied with strong vocals.
The track has an enigmatic ebb and flow in its catchy main riff that repeats throughout and builds up an abundance of momentum.
The prominence of the riffs and vocals switches in the verses, as the vocals are given a chance to shine while the guitar subtly retreats and merges into the background.

Another element that works out pretty well is the adept changes of tempo in the drums which manage to add more zest to the song and keep it captivating. The slight delays and pauses throughout also contribute to that equilibrium of synergy.

With anthemic lyrics such as ‘’Absolute power corrupts absolutely’’, the track is an all-round cohesive bundle of sound and vocals guaranteed to attract a lot of attention and charm many with its enthusiasm and energy.

Recently released, ‘Lip Service’ is one of those tracks that has a near hundred percent chance to drive up a crowd’s energy levels to that of unadulterated excitement when performed live. And since Ten Eighty Trees are known to go all out in their performances, this is very much as good as guaranteed to happen.

The band have their heavily anticipated headlining show at Think Tank? on the 20th of April in Newcastle. It’s a performance you won’t want to miss, so make sure you grab yourself a ticket and enjoy!
