Single Review: 'All For Love' by Megan Lara Mae

Birmingham born, now Brighton based, synth-pop singer-songwriter Megan Lara Mae is releasing her new single ‘All For Love’ – a pop ballad that fuses hooky melodies with pristine electronic production and makes you want to scream “I love music” from the nearest rooftop.

Love doesn’t need many words, it’s much bigger than language and ‘All For Love’ perfectly captures this notion by wrapping simple lyrics in big sonic productions. Beautifully synthy harmonies enhance Megan’s soft crisp vocals.

With Mae drawing from both classical and contemporary music training, ‘All For Love’ would have easily worked as a slow, sentimental ballad but, thankfully, they decided to add drums to the mix giving the song a fresh coat of colour.

In case you’ve ever wondered if music can sound like walking on air, ‘All For Love’ is your answer.
It’s Cloud 9 in song form.

And ‘All For Love’ already has a whole lot of history: written as a collaboration with her husband, it became the song Megan walked down the aisle to.
Being the love song of all love songs, very fittingly, its official music video (out on 02.10.2019) is the couple’s life together in phone video footage.
Is this the appropriate time to say #couplegoals?

But it’s not just a great love song, with ‘All For Love’ Megan Lara Mae has managed to create a piece of music that stands out from the rest.

Over the last few years, female pop has seen a much needed rebranding from overplayed sugary sweet songs to strong women making raw, authentic music with artists like Gracey, Fletcher or local sensation L Devine and Megan is another rising star to add to the line-up!
